Ownership of Indian stocks sector wise:

  • FII's own maximum in financials

  • Individual investors own max in Industrials and Materials

  • Domestic Mutual Funds own max in Pharma, financials and consumer discretionary stocks

  • Markets continued to scale new highs as mid and small caps soared

  • AI continues to drive big tech stocks with Nasdaq touching all-time highs and Adobe giving strong guidance on demand for its AI powered software

  • We continue to believe like mentioned in our election day note that structural tailwinds will continue to drive the markets higher, however volatility would be higher than we have seen in the past

  • The month of May saw 25,900cr. of inflows in sectoral/ thematic funds i.e. > 35% of all inflows in May were in thematic and sectoral funds (This is a very worrying trend and investors should avoid such themes and if at all, limit such exposure to not more than 20% of the equity portfolio)

  • We don’t advise investing in NFO’s in the sectoral space
